The first meeting of the Republican Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic on the population and housing census of 2020

On July 11, 2018, the first meeting of the Republican Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic on the population and housing census of 2020 (Commission) was held under the chairmanship of First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic  Boronov K.A. The Commission is an interdepartmental body established to guide and coordinate the preparation and conduct of the population and housing census of 2020 in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The significance of this meeting is to inform Commission members and invited specialists about the goals, tasks of the forthcoming census, the role of ministries, departments and local authorities in the preparations for an important event.

At the meeting, the chairman of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, A.Sh. Sultanov, was informed about the preparations for the forthcoming census. According to the resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic of October 23, 2017, the census of population and housing will be carried out from March 23 to April 1, 2020, will attract about 25 thousand people census staff. According to preliminary calculations, this event will require 547.5 million soms.

In order to test the organizational and methodological support developed by the National Statistical Committee, a pilot (trial) census will be conducted in March 2019.
