There is a slight increase in economic growth without Kumtor enterprises in September of this year

Gross domestic product in January-September 2019, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to more than 398 billion soms and increased by 6.1 percent compared to January-September 2018.

Without enterprises on Kumtor developing, the volume of GDP in January-September 2019 amounted to about 356 billion soms and increased by 3.2 percent.

The volume of industrial production amounted to more than 196 billion soms and compared with January-September 2018, it increased by 16.5 percent due to an increase in the production of basic metals (by 39.2 percent), in textile production (by 30.1 percent), and metal mining ores (by 26.7 percent), as well as the extraction of crude oil and natural gas (by 14.1 percent).

Positive trends were observed in agriculture, where the growth in volumes amounted to 1.8 percent, in construction - 9.0 percent, wholesale and retail trade - 4.6 percent.

Since the beginning of this year (compared with December of the previous year), consumer prices and tariffs in the country as a whole have increased by 0.6 percent, due to higher prices for food products and soft drinks, as well as services.

In January-September of this year (compared with December of the previous year), an increase in consumer prices and tariffs was observed throughout the republic, with the exception of the Talas region, where prices fell by 0.2 percent and Osh - by 0.7 percent. At the same time, their greatest increase (2.5 percent) since the beginning of this year recorded in the Issyk-Kul region, where in comparison with other regions, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 4.6 percent, as well as non-food products (1.1 percent). The maximum increase in prices for food products and soft drinks was observed in Batken region (4.7 percent), tariffs for services - in Naryn region (2.8 percent).

According to preliminary data, the foreign trade turnover of the Kyrgyz Republic in January-August 2019 amounted to 4.4 billion US dollars and decreased by 4.6 percent compared to January-August 2018, while export deliveries increased by 10.8 percent and import revenues, by contrast, decreased by 9.2 percent.

The volume of mutual trade between the republic and the EAEU member states in January-August 2019 amounted to 1.7 billion US dollars and compared to January-August 2018 decreased by 5.0 percent. At the same time, there was a decrease in both export deliveries by 8.0 percent and import receipts by 4.1 percent. The largest share of mutual trade between the republic and the EAEU member states was in Russia (60.8 percent) and Kazakhstan (36.9 percent).
